Two new posi tions were created recently in the Research Department of DeKalb Poultry Research, Inc., according to an announcement by the direc tor, James J. Warren, Jr. Dr. Harris B. Wright has been named research geneticist and lan Smith has been appointed research associate. ‘The appointment of Dr. Wright and lan Smith adds to the overall research and technical support pro vided by Jim Warren and Dr. Larry Vint, assistant director of research,” declared John R. Nel son, president, in commenting on the new positions. Wright is the son of Dr. & Mrs. F. Malcolm Wright who formerly operated a general farm in York County, where they raised Here ford cattle and about 100,000 turk eys annually for Round Hill Foods at New Oxford. He was awarded his doctorate in animal breeding from Cornell University last August. Recently, he and his wife and two young children moved to the DcKalb, Illinois area. At DcKalb Poultry, Dr. Wright’s basic duties arc in the dis ciplines of genetic research, biometrics, computer systems and programming, and technical support. lan Smith has been technical manager for DcKalb in Europe and the Middle East for the past 18 years. He and his wife recently moved to the DcKalb, Illinois area. He will be working under the direction of Jim Warren in the development and dissemination of research and management infor mation supporting DeKalb’s layer products. A native of Scotland, Smith joined the F. & G. Sykes poultry organization following service in the Royal Air Force. He served 10 years with Sykes in research and
