I stopped humming, turned the radio down, and within a few yards rec ognized the sound and the feel of a flat tire. Although my schedule was blown for the rest of the day, I was uplifted by the kindness of stran gers during my flat tire episode. Though many people passed me by, there was the kind woman who invited me into her home to use the telephone, the gentleman who stopped and offered to help, and the AAA serviceman who got me back on the road again. This one hour out of a hectic schedule reminded me that it is the little acts of kindness that really can and do count. Not only is it important to a stranger, but also to family members, our bowling teammates, our card club, womens group, and co-workers.
