Fertility Management

nature of plant nutrients and how
they interact with the soil, a two
day program on soil-fertility man
agement is being offered by the
York County Extension Service.
The workshop will be held on
February 22 and 23 at the York
County 4-H Center from 9:30 a.m.
to approximately 2:30 p.m. The
sessions will be lead by Dr. Dou
glas Beegle and Phil Durst, exten
sion agronomy specialists; Mitch
Woodward, regional specialist;
and John E. Rowehl, York County
Looking For Big Trees
LEESPORT The Berks
County Conservation District is
conducting a survey of big trees in
Berks County in cooperation with
the Bureau of Forestry, The pur
pose of the survey is to compile a
list of Big Trees and then publish a
booklet listing the trees by species.
All species of trees will be
included in this survey.
The public is being asked and
encouraged to assist in this prog
ram by notifying the Conservation
District of any knowledge they

and lunch will be provided at no

advised but not required for both
