Mrs. Hyde will speak at the Cat llcwomcn’s business meeting which begins at 9 a.m. Jan. 30, She will also be a speaker at the ban quet Jan. 29 for the New York Beef Cattlemen’s Association and the New York Cattlewomen. Mrs. Hyde was educated in agri cultural economics at the Universi ty of California. She and her author/naturalist husband Dayton O. “Hawk” Hyde operate the Yam si Ranch in southern Oregon. The couple has five children, all whom have taken an active interest in ranch affairs. In addition to the cattle raised on the ranch there is an active limberlands project with trees planted and then harvested on cut-over areas of the ranch. She served as president of the Oregon Cowßclles in 1981. On the nation al level she has served on a number of committees before election to the executive committee, then to vice president, president-elect and currently president of the 10,000 member national organization. She calls on Cattlewomcn both on their state and on the national level “to serve as strong spokes persons who use a positive approach to tell the story of our industry and our products.” New York Calllewomen will elect a slate of officers, name a “Calllewoman of the Year” and set priorities for the coming year.
