Board Meets GETTYSBURG The Adams County Farmers’ Association’s Board of directors held their regu lar monthly meeting on Thursday, December 3, 1987, in the com munity room of the Adams County National Bank. In special action taken by the board, Ms. Lana Stoner of Camp Gettysburg Road, Gettysburg, was appointed as the new treasurer of the association replacing Calvin Bream who has been treasurer of the association for more than 25 years. President of the board, John Hess, expressed his approval of the appointment, “Ms. Stoner brings expertise along with experience to this new endeavor. She has been involved in bookkeeping for sever al years and the board wishes her success for the future years.” Membership chairman, Dave Donaldson, reported an all time high of 752 member families who have joined the organization thus far, in the 1987-88 year. Mr. Donaldson has been a member of the state board of directors for sev eral years from this district prior to his election. He expresses his delight in the election results and hopes to best serve the farming community through his new commitment. An informative open meeting will be held during the month of January to discuss the concerns and questions regarding the land preservation act. The meeting will be hosted by the Adams County Fanners’ Assn, with representa tive Ken Cole as the moderator. The fanning community at large is invited to attend. Details will be forthcoming. An insurance liability meeting will be held on January 25th, 1988, at the Gettysburg Fire Hall begin ning at 8 p.m. to discuss the envir onmental hazards and polution lia bility. The meeting will be spon sored by the Adams County Farmers’ Assn, and will be moder ated by experts from the Pennsyl vania Farmers’ Assn. This meeting is also open to the general farming community within the county. The January board of directors meeting will be held on January 7th, 1988, beginning at 10 a.m. with a board orientation at the Bonanza Restaurant in Gettys burg.
