Mem bers of Dairymen Inc. who mark eted milk through their 17-state regional milk marketing coopera tive in 1982 are receiving equity checks, interest and reinvestment confirmatiqn notices totaling $12.1 million this week. This payment to approximately 10,000 equity holders throughout the middle Atlantic and southeast ern states represents average pay ments of $1,251 which is in addi tion to members’ regular milk checks. Returns $12.1 Million In Equity To Member Dairy Farmers to members’ accounts for the fiscal year which ended Aug. 31. 1982, together with the retirement of approximately $3.3 million of member equity reinvestment prog ram (MERP) series 1984 invest ments eligible for redemption, plus interest. Dairymen’s Association Board of Directors authorized the retire ment of this member equity at its October 1987 board meeting. Each year the board must take the neces sary action to authorize the retire ment of member equity under the cooperative’s revolving program.
