(Continued from Pag* A 3)
prices were choppy throughout
most of the session. The initial
pressure was tied to followthrogh
selling from yesterday’s lower
close, and to ideas beef prices
could come under pressure. Cash
cattle prices were steady to slightly
higher this morning. Light receipts
supported prices but the lack of
better quality cattle prevented the
offering of higher prices.
CME FEEDER CATTLE SET
TLEMENT PRICE; 12/07/87
$76.28 dn $ .23.
ACRES NEXT DAY OUT
LOOK: cash - steady to higher
futures-mixed.
ACRES HOG UPDATE: Live
hog futures closed mixed today
with the nearbys pressured by the
unwinding of bull spreads and
ideas that cash fundamentals were
weakening. Higher than expected
hog runs yesterday and ideas that
recent heavy kills may pressure
cash prices late this week pres
sured futures. Also pressuring
prices was steady midday pork
product values and speculation
recent sharp advances in wholesale
hams may have neared a top. Cash
hog prices woe steady to SO cents
higher this morning. Light receipts
at many markets was the underly
ing source of steady to higher
prices.
ACRES NEXT DAY OUT
LOOK: cash - steady to lower
futures - mixed.
