LEMASTERS In the four
years that David Sheiss, 12, has
been a member of the Franklin
County 4-H Baby Beef Club, he
has never shown a Grand Champ
ion steer. But he has an attitude
that is worth far more than any
banner or trophy.
In his 1987 project book he
wrote about his experience at a
recent round-up. “I didn’t pull out
a champion, but a friend of mine
did, and I was real happy for her.”

the 4-Hers,” Lebo commented.
“Competition is great, but they
still have to have the attitude of,
T’ve done my best, and I can still
congratulate the winner.’”
David won first place for his
project book. He is the son of
Daryl and Penny Sheiss,
Chambersburg.
