Crystal Shaffer, 1987 Pa. Cattle men’s Queen from State College was present to hand out the awards during the show and announced the market animals auctioned at the 4-H sale. Nine successful bid ders purchased seven lambs, four hogs and four steers for a total of $5959.30. Grand Champion Market Lamb, which was also Ist place in the heavy weight class at 116#, owned by Celia Molyneux, Dushore, went to Robert Moore, Happy Thoughts Farm, Forksville, for $290.00. Grand Champion Market Hog, at 255# owned by Chris Insinger RD Dushore sold for $l.lO a pound to L & H Lumber, Forksvil le. Chris’ pig was purchased this spring at 40# for $ 1.00 a pound and fed 600# of grain until fairtime gaining 215# during the summer and Chris was paid a nice reward of $280.50 for his efforts. Grand Champion Market Steer at 1200# was owned by Melissa Wilkins, Wil-Stock Farms, Dushore and sold to Taylor Pack ing Co., Inc., Wyalusing for $l.OO a pound.
