The con tinued talk of quality concerns in European wheat underpinned prices along with ideas that the Soviet Union might be looking at another 2.0 to 4.0 MMT of US wheat under the export bonus program. Further support came from steady to higher Gulf basis levels and yesterday’s higher than-expected weekly export inspections. Prices rose from 1-3/4 cent to 3-1/2 cents today with the December closing at $2.96-1/2, up 2-1/2.
