HUNTINGDON —-Holstein
exhibitors at the Huntingdon
County Fair witnessed John A.
Foster 111 repeat something he has
done quite a few times on the tan
bark trail this summer. He won
grand champion with Grove-Run
Sexy Darlene once again.
Darlene is a three year old
daughter of Ocean-View Sexation
and has stepped into the champion
spotlight at several shows.
Mr. Foster also had reserve
grand champion with Globe-Run
Columbus Petunia. She is a four
year old daughter of Leadfield
Columbus ET.
Stepping into the junior champ
ionship slot was Bill McMath. His

senior yearling daughter of the
Leadfield Columbus bull also.
Bylerlawn Messiah Fem won
the reserve junior champion award
for her owner, James Byler. She is
a daughter of Hanover-Hill
Messiah-ET and was shown in the
junior yearling class.
Christie Booher dominated the
senior classes in the Brown Swiss
breed and also won the grand
championship with Rivervale
Maiden P Margo. Margo is a five
year daughter of Maple Grove
Performer.
Christie also had the reserve
grand champion with another five
year old - Rivervale Rita Rae.
Richard Chesney won both the
junior and reserve junior champ-

ionships. A senior calf, Shellytown
Target Dot, a daughter of Ash Hol
low Tammys Target, was the
junior champ. Chesney Lane Doris
Lilac, a junior yearling, was the
reserve champion.
The Hardy family dominated
the Jersey competition. Janice won
grand champion honors with
TK ASM Bessy. She is a senior 2
year old daughter of Advancer
Sleeping Milestone.
Jim stepped into the reserve spot
with TK Trailblazer Rhonda, a
three year old.
Their sister Jill kept the tradition
going by showing Twix Beacon
Manda to the junior champion
spotlight. Manda is an intermedi
ate yearling daughter of Valley
stream Silver Beacon.

Rachel McGargle did break in
and walk away with the reserve
junior championship honors.
The Milking Shorthorn show
also saw a family win the entire
line-up of championship. The
Goshom family was the exhibitors
of the quality animals.
Matthew won grand with Honey
Creek R.J. Promise, an aged cow,
while sister Monica followed with
her senior 2 year old Pinesedge
Cherry Sundae as reserve.
In the junior classes, Matthew
once again captured the top honor
with Honey Creek Duchy Mae, a
senior calf. Monica won reserve
with an intermediate yearling,
Pinesedge Cheri Soda.
Although there was only one
exhibitor in the Guernsey show,
Todd Parsons showed quality

In the Ayrshire show, Melvin judge in Ring 1; Steve Mowry,
Brant, Jr. took the top honor with New Enterprise, type judge in
Rippling-Brook Julius Betsy. She Ring 2 and Tom Wakefield, fitting
is a jr. 2 year old daughter of Pant and showing judge in Ring 2.
Rathmell Takes First In Horse Show
COUDERSPORT (POTTER
CO.) The Potter County 4-H
Qualifying Horse Show was held
at the Potter County Fairgrounds.
Judge was Harry Hurd.
Taking first place blue ribbons
in the Horse Production classes
was Jennifer Rathmell with a year
ling colt and a two-year old fillie.
In Grooming and Showmanship,
12 years and under, first place
went to Michael Rutkowski from
the Silver Bits Club. In the 13-15
year class, first place went to Darla

Todd Parsons also made an
appearance in the Ayrshire junior
show and won junior champion
with Honey-Brook Hi’s Melissa, a
senior calf.
Winning the reserve honor was
Mischelle Broadbent. She was
showing an intermediate yearling.
In first year showing and fitting
competition Jody Goshom won
showmanship and Rachel
McGarglc won fitting.
Winning in the category for
those with two to four years exper
ience was Kathy Jo Wagner -
showman and Christie Booher -
fitter.
Tormey. In the senior division first
place went to Valery Barnett.'
Nikki Perkins, Rainbow Moun
tain Trail Blazers, took first place
in the Open Trail, 13.2 hands and
under, while Rick Higley, Bronc
Busters took first place in open
trail over 13.2 hands with Moun
tain Fawn.
Chyrie Wheaton on Narada and
Rick Higley on Mountain Fawn,
both members of the Bronc Bus
ters, teamed for first place in Plea
sure Pairs.
