a member of the Solanco 4-H
Club, the Red Rose Beef Club and
the Exchange Club; and Tammy
Long, a member of the Boots and
Saddles 4-H Club.
Three 4-H’ers were named to
the Senior Honor Roll and three to
the Junior Honor Roll, reflecting
their participation in county, reg
ional and statewide 4-H activities.

Winners of the annual talent
competition included: first, Jill
Musser, Ephrata Community
Club, with a piano solo; second,
Seth Bair, Mountville Community
Club, juggling; tie for third, Stacey
Goss, Penn Willow 4-H Club,
piano solo and Lisa Long, Elm-
Penryn Club, vocal solo. Other
finalists were Tricia and Tara
Bare. The finalists had been
selected from among 15 particip
ants at an earlier competition.
Ten 4-H’ers received scholar
ships from the Lancaster County
Bankers Association. Winners
were: Cindy Hamish, $250; Lorri
Rutt, $250; Sallie Gregory, $200;
Ellen Lewis, $150; Tricia Musser,
$150; Julie Hoffer, $100; Bob Bar
ley, $100; Kevin Hess, $100; and
Joy Layton, $lOO.
Kerry Freese, 16, was named a

Brian McLaughlin received a
#23 award from the Appalachian
Audubon Society for his handy
man project which was a Martin
bird house.
A showman of showmen contest
was held during the three-day fair,
with each participant showing a
horse, a dairy heifer and a market
lamb. Winners in that event were;
Jessica Watts, first; Melissa Har
ris, second; Kristen Chupp, third.
In a contest of club exhibits,
designed to help educate the public
about the work of individual clubs,
Boots and Saddles Club took first
place. In second was the Rough
Riders Club and in third there was
a tie between Solanco Rabbit Club
and the Seeing Eye Puppy Club.

their 4-H project exhibits, having
received a point total of 98 to 100.
