The reserve champion Holstein Reserve champion champion Jersey, in the open show was San-Be Jingle Bell for San-Bc Farms. The reserve champion FFA Holstein was J & K Yue Homestead Sunny for Jonathon Boop. The grand champion Jersey was Bryant Hill Brass Harp for Amy Jo Sanders. Sanders was also the champion 4-H showman. And Aaron Gimmo was the champion 4-H fitter. Dennis Wolff, Millville, was the judge. And Ralph Dietrich Jr. was the show superintendent. Union Fair Livestock Sale Report The Union County West End Fair held its ninth annual 4-H and FFA Livestock Auction Sale on Friday, August 7, 1987. The sale was open to all FFA and 4-H mem bers in Union County exhibiting animals during the sixty-second fair in Laurelton. Bryan K. Imes of R.D. 2 Port Royal served as the auctioneer. A total of 54 animals were sold for $15,688.93. The 1250 pound grand champ ion market steer was owned by Duane Keefer of RD 2Lewisburg. It was sold to Metzger Quality Meats & Custom Butchering of Winfield, Pennsylvania for $ 1.00 a pound. Curtiss Falck of RD 2 Lewis burg owned the 1400 pound Char olais reserve champion market steer. It was purchased by the West Milton State Bank of West Million for .86 a pound. In the market swine division, Kerry Wenrick of Laurelton own ed the 226 pound grand champion market hog. The Mifflinburg FFA 1987 Union County West End Fair champion market lamb (L-R) Bob Valentine of Mifflinburg Bank and Trust Company buyer, Lisa Sharp Miss Union County, Gary Willow owner. member sold his champion hog to Hatfield Packing Company of Hat field, Pennsylvania for 2.60 a pound. Heidi Keefer of RD 2Lew isburg sold her 227 pound reserve champion market hog to Hatfield Packing at a price of 2.35 a pound. The 105 pound grand champion market lamb was raised by Gary Willow of RD 3 Mifflinburg. Mr. David Dcihl purchased the champ ion lamb for the Mifflinburg Bank and Trust Company of Mifflin burg, at $6.10 a pound. The reserve champion market lamb was owned by Teresa Walker of RD 2 Lewis burg, Pennsylvania. Roger Shuck of the Mifflinburg Farmers Exchange Inc. purchased the 90 pound reserve champion for 3.00 a pound. This year’s sale included six steers, 25 market hogs, and 23 market lambs. The six beef ani mals were sold for $6,319.75, the market swine $5,599.69, and the market lambs $3,769.49.
