Floyd Imes Honored By PA Seedsmen’s Association For thirty-five years, Floyd Imes has been traveling extensive ly throughout the eastern states purchasing and distributing small grains and soybeans. But his travels will soon come to a stop. On October 1, Imes is retir ing as seed specialist from Agway of Syracuse, New York. To show appreciation for Imes dedication, The PA Seedsmen’s Association honored Imes on August 21 with a plaque. Imes has been active in the asso ciation since its conception in 1956 and has served three terms as presi dent. The association gives legisla tive purpose, discusses the seed situation, and seedsmen’s mutual needs with reference to seed laws, seed quality and supplies. Other segments of agriculture have also benefitted from Imes’s involvement by his being part of the PA Grassland Council, a char ter member of PA Master Com Growers Association and the Mid- Atlantic Soybean Association.
