Northumberland No-Till Twilight Meeting To Be Held Northumberland County Con rvation District and the Coopera te Extension Service will spon >r a twilight meeting on Thurs ly, September 3, from 6:30 to 00 PM. The meeting will begin with an spection of no-till com, oats, and >ybean demonstration plots from 30 to 7:00 PM. The plots were anted by Carl Forman and are icated on Route 54, three jarters of a mile west of urbotville. A 1 Kober, representing Clemens Markets, was the suc cessful contender, paying $4.20 perpound for the Grand Champion animal exhibited by Dan Cochran of Collegeville. Dan’s lamb was named Grand Champion by judge Rod Gilbert of Delaware Valley College at the annual Montgomery tors. Private applicators will receive three credits (one core and two subject matter) toward certifi cation renewal. Refreshments will be provided by the Northumerland County Conservation District. Cle mens Markets also purchased lambs from Shane Frankenfield of Royersford and Jim Nutt of Blue BeU at $1.30 per pound. Southeast Farm Credit of Silver dale was the buyer of the Reserve Grand Champion lamb paying $1.90 per pound for the animal shown by Andy Kumpf of Norris town. Andy also showed the Grand Champion- Pair of Lambs which was purchased by A. Thomas of Aquilante Markets of Berwyn for $1.30/lb. Mr. Thomas also bought lambs shown by Denise McMahon of Green Lane, Rob Nutt of Blue Bell and Chad Kinsky of Lansdale at $1.20/lb. as well as John Unruh’s entry, Harleysville, at $1.45/lb. Kratz’s General Store of Skip pack was welcomed as a new buy er. Owner Gary Kratz paid $1.30/lb. for the lambs exhibited by David Nutt, Blue Bell, and Todd Frankenfield of Royersford. Hennings Market of Harleysville paid $1.60/lb. for the entry of Johanna Landis of Green Lane. Sheila Landis’s lamb. Green Lane, went to Landis Supermarket of Telford at $1.55/lb. Black’s Lives tock of Skippack, paid $ 1.40/lb. to Mark Shellenberger of Lansdale while Moyer and Sons of Souder ton was the buyer of Joshua Land is’s lamb, Green Lane, atsl.6o/lb. Marcho Veal of Harleysville sup ported Heather Miller, also of Har leysville, by buying her animal at $1.60/lb. County Agent Nancy Kadwill of Collegeville extended apprecia tion to all the buyers and to Joe Landis and the staff of the Per kiomenville Sales Auction for hosting the event. The Green Pas tures 4-H Sheep Club is open to all youth ages 8-19 who are interested in raising either market lambs or breeding sheep.
