Lebanon County 4-H’ers have
returned laden with honors from
1987 Penn State 4-H Week held
August 3-6 at Pennsylvania State
University’s main campus.
More than 1,400 4-H members
throughout the state participated in
judging and presentation contests
as well as an intensive leadership
-development program.
4-H members awarded gold
medals for their presentations
include Dawn Hawryluk, Stepha
nie Wolfe, and Kelly Lawrence,
Lebanon; in the animal science
division and Becke Grumbine,
Myerstown; in the plant science
division.

The Adams County 4-H Horse
& Pony Clubs held their annual
4-H Round-up on August 1 at the
South Mountain Fairgrounds. The
4-H’ers have been working very
hard all year with their horses to be
ready for this big day. The first
three placings in each class will be
eligible to go on to the District
show, to be held August IS at Her-
captured second place in the State
Public Speaking Contest. Lebanon
County’s Junior Livestock Judg
ing team placed second with team
members Jeff Bomgardner, Daryl
Bomgardner, Annville; Jay Klein
felter, Mycrstown; and John Riss
er, Lebanon. Jeff and Daryl placed
fifth and seventh individually in
the contest
4-H is open to all youth ages
8-19 regardless of race, religion,
sex, national origin, handicap, or
