Texas Farmer Predicts End Of
BY LOUANN GOOD
ANNVILLE A well-known
organic farmer from Texas warned
farmers that he sees difficult days
ahead.
Frank Ford lectured at the Pen
nsylvania Natural Living Confer
ence held at Lebanon Valley Col
lege last weekend; later, he met
with farmers in small groups
throughout the local area.
He said, “We have been taking
anesthesia from government admi
nistration and America must get
ready for difficult times after
enjoying an economic fairyland.”
Farmers, he contends, will suf
fer greatly unless they prepare
now.
To prepare, he believes, farmers
must become debt-free even if it
means reducing the scope of their
operations. “If you can’t get out of
debt, sell everything in order to
become solvent.”
Ford believes the government

Corporations, Ford said, make

Producers, like farmers, suffer

money. Reprocessed farms go into

swallowed up by insurance com

said, “We need a society where
people can stay on the land.”
