A Lancaster County feedlot tour and seminar for beef farmers was held
Wednesday by Young’s Inc. Farm visits included the Nissley Brothers farm,
Dwight Hess farm arid Dave Becker farm. Scenes at Nissleys are shown in the
photos. More than 100 persons attended.
A lunch was served at the Rothville Fire Hall. And after lunch, Dr. Bill Hen
ning meets Extension specialist at Penn State gave a rundown on yield grade,
quality grade and dressing percent. In addition, Mike Orndoff from PACMA
discussed market trends and representatives of packing companies dis
cussed country-buying programs.
An update was given on Bovatec for increased gains and decreased feed
consumption. ,
