The Pa. Bureau of Forestry and
the Northumberland County Con
servation District will sponsor a
woodland tour on Tuesday,
August 4 at 6:30 PM.
The tour will be held on Paul
Kline’s property, located about
one mile north of Greenbrier in
southern Northumberland County.
Signs leading to the site will be
posted along the Rebuck-Leck Kill
road.
Leading the tour will be Mark
Dcibler, service forester with the
Pa. Bureau of Forestry, and Wil
liam Kreiger, a local consulting
forester. Those attending the prog
ram will have the opportunity to
see timber stand management and
harvesting techniques after a gyp
sy moth kill on Kline’s 78 acres of
woodlands.
Other topics will include forest
regeneration after a harvesting
operation, timber values, tree iden
tification, developing a harvesting
contract, professional forestry ser
vices, and others.
