On Thursday night, Aug. 6, at 7:00 p.m. sharp, Harold and Cindy Shellenberger of Mt. Joy will be sharing their farm with us. We are sure this will be an evening the whole family will enjoy. For the men, prominent Holstein breeders Mr. Dennis Wolf (Pen-Col Farm) and Mr. David Burket (Burket Falls Farm) will be discussing their breeding techniques. For the women, Mrs. Joanne Hershey, a farm wife and past president of Lancaster Farm Women, there will be games and prizes, as well as door prizes for the adults. There will also be judg ing in the annual judging contest with awards given. A full course meal of delicious oven-baked chicken will satisfy Dairy Conference Set In Lancaster CAMP HILL A free, day long conference on the “Strategic Use of Whole Cotton Seed and Distillers Dried Grains with Solu bles for Health and Productivity in High Producing Dairy Cows” will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Aug. 4 at the Lancaster Farm and Home Center. The Dairy Nutrition and Herd Health Conference is being spon sored by PACMA, a marketing affiliate of the Pennsylvania Far mers’ Association (PFA). Three faculty members from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine will give 30-minute presentations followed by a panel discussion during the morning session. Lead ing off.
