The contest dead line has been extended to July 20 due to the tremendous interest in this event. The contest will be held in Wil liamsport. Selected finalists need not be present; professional chefs will prepare the selected recipes. Any Pennsylvania resident 18 years or older with non professional cooking status may enter. Recipes using all cuts of veal may be submitted. Each recipe must contain a minimum of one half pound fresh veal. No other meat may be included in the recipe, which must serve two people. Veal recipes will be screened by a panel of three experienced judges for taste, ease of preparation, origi nality, appearance and low calorie appeal. A professional chef will prepare each of the top ten final ists’ recipes which will be judged by a committee made up of a restauranteur, a chef, a home eco nomist and a nutritionist Recipes should be submitted on an B'/j by 11-inch sheet of white paper and be neatly printed or typed. Recipes should be sent directly to: PA VEAL COOK-OFF ENTRY, P.O. Box 125, Monroe ton, PA 18832. Entries must be received by July 20, 1987. The contest is held to feature new veal recipes which will be dis tributed in pamphlet form to the public; to increase awareness and understanding of veal cuts and proper cooking methods; and to educate consumers on the good nutritional value, uniqueness and versatility of veal.
