Dear Dairy Farmer:
I would like to thank all of my customers for including whole cottonseeds in
their feeding program this past season. We have shipped thousands of tons of
this unique feed ingredient into this region and with spring planting now
complete it is time to make plans for next years usage.
Whole Cottonseeds have proven to be a feed ingredient that works. In the
past five years (1981-1986) seeds fed whole have grown from just over 7% of
the available crop to well over 40%, an incredible increase!! Agricultural
Outlook (May 1987) has reported that acreage planted for cotton has increased
3% over last season, and a return to normal yields should equate to a produc
tion increase of 12-20%. We hope this will mean lower prices in the coming
season.

quotes, and crop conditions call me toll-free (USA) 1-800-424-6275 or (PA)

The Stookey herd is primarily a
black and white Holstein herd.
However, the red-factor animals
sold better, commented Michael
Sandifer of Stookey Holsteins. He
noted the production sale reduced
the total number of head on in
ventory in the Stookey farm to 850.
The Stookeys also felt it was time
to test the cattle market. Sandifer
noted the market is still not what it
was several years ago, however, it
is recovering.
Dallas Burton and Ed Fellers
served as auctioneers and
managers for the sale.
