FEATURES BUILT BY Milford is an old hand at hosting chicken festivals, having had three during the 1980’s. It takes ad vantage of them to hold a parade, work out the local civic groups and show off the town. Milford’s Chamber of Commerce led the way this year under the direction of its president, Jack Nylund. The stars of the show this year were three chickens and a young man who came to America by way of China. The birds were Blue Hens which made their first appearance at a chicken festival and gave Delawareans and their many guests a chance to see for the first time for most just what the famous Blue Hen is. The young man was Martin Yan, who is no stranger to TV viewers who have enjoyed his PBS show “Yan Can Cook.” Mr. Yan played to packed audiences with his demonstrations of comedy, slapstick and kitchen wizardry. Of course, he featured chicken in all of them as did others participating in a consumer food show, “Chicken The Health Choice.” The consumer show emphasized that chicken is considered to be the standard meat for modern, low fat and low cholesterol diets. Another festival event, “Chicken Capers,” proved it has come of age to • Pole Barn Construction • 8’ Cantilevered Roof System Over Feedpad For Added Protection • Grooved Concrete Floors In Alleys To Reduce Animal Injury From Skidding Lit Oir ExMiiMce Work For You FvMl'Vw .
