The sale, hosted by Ed and Carol Kahler, Gaywinds Farm, averaged $616.76 on 37 head. Nine head eclipsed the $l,OOO mark. A fresh 2-year-old milking close to 50 pounc s a day topped the sale at $1,200. CLV Babes Master Nikki was consigned by Patty Jenkins, Toughkenamen, Pa., and was purchased by Geraldine and Cletus Barnes, Mount Airy. The Barneses purchased the three top selling animals. Nikki is a Milestone Babes Master daughter out of an Ad vancer Sleeping Milestone dam who had records over 13,200 pounds of milk and 649 pounds of fat. In addition to milking well, Nikki also boasted a showring record which included being the second place Junior Yearling at the 1986 Farm Show. A fancy uddered, fresh 3-year old sired by Favorite Saint took the third high slot selling to Barnes for $1,145. Although only on test for the last 213 days of her first record, S.A.R. Favorite Saint Heiress hails from a milky maternal line with her Samson dam already having made two records over 13,300 pounds of milk and 570 pounds of fat M.E. Her granddam has a lifetime production of 111,218 pounds of milk and 4,923 pounds of fat. “Heiress” was consigned by Jeannie Lee Epard, Woodstock, Va. The Kahler Family, Gaywinds Farm, Keymar, purchased the next two high selling animals, each selling for $1,125. One was Tee Pee Dynamite Bell, consigned by James P. Hardy, Petersburg, Pa. Selling dry, Bell is scored VG-86 and is due to freshen in mid-July. She has two records of 10,000 pounds of milk.
