ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The
American Angus Association
ended the first six months of its
1987 fiscal year March 31, with
solid gains m most every business
category, ranging from
registrations and transfers to
Certified Angus Beef sales.
Registrations for the first six
months totaled 86,283 head, an
increase of 15.46 percent, and
transfers of 45,675 head were up
9.97 percent, compared to the same
period in 1906, according to
Richard Spader, association
executive vice president. In ad
dition, the number of artificial
insemination service certificates
showed a nearly 17 percent volume
increase to total 25,027.
Moreover, Certified Angus Beef
sales continued to set records. For
the first half of the 1967 fiscal year,
sales were near 20 million pounds,
an increase of 64 percent according
to Louis “Mick” Colvin, director of
the association’s CAB program.
This compares with sales of some
29.75 million pounds in all of 1986.
