Wimer showed a film on kitchen
safety. Afterward, he discussed
safety precautions and answered
questions about methods to destroy
fires and how to promote fire
Berks Group 6
Members of Berks Group 6 met
in March at the home of Mrs. Carl
Herbein, Oley.
Mrs. Kay Youse started the
evening program with “fashion
coloring.’’
Members are planning to sell
refreshments at the farm sale of
Mary Jane Hetrick, a member.
Several members are planning to
General Hospital presented the
program.
The next meeting_will be held at
Mechanic Grove Church of the
Brethren, Quarryville, April 20.
The society will be entertained by

cultivate friendships.

1986 and announced that the Spring
Rally will be held May 20 at
Elizabethtown College.
For the April 11 meeting, the

party will be celebrated.

Berks Group 11
Members of Berks Group 11 met
in March at Boscov’s in the
Lebanon Valley Mall. A spring
fashion show was held in the
auditorium. Refreshments were
served after the show.
The .next meeting will feature a
program on dental health.
Berks Group 12
Berks Group 12 met in March at
the home of June Beck, Bemville.
New officers Gloria Christman,
president, and Karen Vail, vice
president, presided at the meeting.
Each member answered roll call
by telling a trivia fact about St.
Patrick’s Day. At the end of the
business meeting, the group had a
mini-lesson on quilting by Pauline
Hartranft. Members made quilted
and stuffed wall hangings.
The April meeting will be held at
the home of Pauline Hartranft,
Bemville.

Little Lions FFA
The Little Lions FFA Chapter
recently awarded county farmer
degrees to Ed Maxwell, Gary
Dreibelbis, Christy Burns, Mark
Brownley, Paula Miller, Barb
Witherite and Nichole Eckenroth.
The award is the third level of
membership for those who have
completed a Supervised Oc
cupational Experience project.
The candidate must have earned at
least $250 in profit from the
project.
Candidates were also required to
participate in public speaking or a
leadership activity in the club.
Chapter farmer degrees,
representing the second level of
membership for members with
SOE projects, were given to John
Deilber, Dustin Brown, Dani
Jones, Jim Pressler, J.J. Sills, Ken
Sharer, Dave Schoen, Sarah
Smith, Glenn Reitz and Stacey
Klinger.
