Tree Fruit Seminar Slated Fruit growing is a very specialized type of farming, and like much of agriculture it is becoming more and more com petitive. The grower who wants to be successful must produce a top quality product and work hard to market that product. Fruit growers, specialists from Penn State, and representatives from private industry, will discuss the latest and best technology for the modem tree fruit producer at a regional growers seminar scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 1987 at the Holiday Inn, Washington, Pa., next to the Meadows Racetrack. Take Exit 8 off of 1-79. The $l2 registration fee covers the cost of the meeting and in cludes a buffet lunch. They can share practical insights, and hopefully, solutions to the problem. And last but not least, Mr. Thomas Callahan, of Adams County Nurseries, Aspers, Pa., will share with growers the work that goes on at the nursery to produce a quality fruit tree for planting. This will include insights on what the grower can do to get the most from his young planting. Participants attending all sessions can receive up to four category specific credits and one core credit toward update of private pesticide applicator licenses.
