Ken Brubaker agrees that buyers should take advantage of the auction floor as long as the market holds up. The president of the Keystone Tobacco Marketing Group, Brubaker advises fanners to continue selling through auc tions as long as the tobacco is bringing 50 cents a pound or higher. “Fifty cents today is better in your pocket than not knowing what the final price will be through a pool,” he said. “The auction system is still working. Prices this past week were stronger than ever for the bulk of the tobacco,” he summed up.
