The cash market started out steady to $ .50 lower with some quotes of $l.OO lower in early trading. The overall cash market has settled between $ 46.00 and $48.00 in today’s trade. The first notice day for March pork bellies will be this coming Friday, so traders were rolling forward the long positions in March and placing them in May. Concerns over large daily slaughter con tinues to plague the market. Estimated slaughter today was 295.000 compared with 300,000 yesterday.
