Westmoreland County. Boyd has
been active in many farm
organizations, and I believe that he
is attuned to the problems of
farmers.”
Donald Ranck, president of the
Lancaster County Farmers’s
Association agreed. “Of all the
names that were circulating, I
thought Boyd Wolff would make
the best agricultural secretary,”
Ranck said.
Wolff is the owner and operator
of a 410 acre farm in West
moreland County, devoted to
crops. Prior to 1979, he operated a
successful dairy operation. Wolff is
a member of the Pennsylvania
State University Board of
Trustees, chairman of the Penn
sylvania Ag Democrats and
chairman of the West Central
Federal Land Bank.
Secretary-designee Wolff
graduated from Pennsylvania
State University with a bachelors
degree in dairy husbandry. He has
received many professional and
community awards including:
Master Farmer in 1970,
distinguished service to
agriculture from the Pennsylvania
Farmers Association, Outstanding
Grassland Award by the American
Forage and Grassland Council,
Outstanding Farm Conservationist
from the Westmoreland Con
servation District, the Golden Rule
Award from the Westmoreland
Girl Scout Council, and was a
Kellogg Fellow in 1972. He is
married to the former Margaret A.
Gravis. And they are the parents of
three daughters. The Wolffs
presently reside in New Alexan
dria.
