    LEESPORT - The Berks
County Cattlemen’s Association
outlined their activities for the new
year and elected officers at their
Dec. 17,1986 meeting held here at
the Ag Center.
Re-elected president of the
association is Ken Rarick of
Reading, and Mike Firestine,
Womelsdorf, continues as
secretary. Paul Holcombe of
Mohrsville is the newly-elected
vice president of the county
association. Serving as directors
are Dennis Manbeck, Robesonia,
and Sheila Miller, Womelsdorf.
The Berks County Cattlemen’s
Association, which represents
local beef and dairy producers who
raise breeding stock and feeder
cattle, has outlined its projected
activities for 1987. Most activities
are free for members of the
association. Membership, at $l2
per year, covers both the county
and state Cattlemen’s Association
dues, and includes a subscription
to Beef Week magazine. Anyone
interested in joining the
association should contact the
Berks County Extension Service
by telephoning 215-378-1327.
According to Rarick, the
association is planning an on
foot/ on-rail beef evaluation on Jan.
19,1987. This event is scheduled for
the Leesport Farmer’s Market,
