He has been district supervisor of Washington County Soil Con servation District for 15 years. First appointed in 1971, he has served as chairman or vice chairman of the board for most of that time. Spickler has also served as an agricultural advisor on the Citizens Advisory Committee to the Chesapeake Bay Programs Executive Council, and is on the board of directors of the National Association of Conservation Districts. A member of SSCC, Maryland’s State Soil Conservation Committee since 1974, Mr. Spickler served as chairman from 1982 to July 1986. Currently serving as president of the Maryland Association of Soil Conservation Districts, Spickler served as first vice president from Lancaster Farming, Saturday, December 27,1956-A23 1979 to 1985. He has served on the board of directors since 1971.
