Several hundred farm toy
collectors from all over the east
coast are expected to gather at the
New Holland fire hall to par
ticipate in a show, sale and auction
Thursday, Jan. 1. The doors open
at 9:30 and the main emphasis of
this event will be the auction which
begins at 11:00 AM. Some rare
farm toys of the 50’s and 60’s have
already been consigned including a

For Northeast Producers
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Two
member cooperatives of United
Dairy Cooperative Services, a
division of NEDCO, Progressive
Dairymen’s Cooperative Inc. and
Middlebury Cooperative Milk
Producers Association Inc., are
seeing an improvement in their
milk income as a result of United’s
innovative premium and bonus
programs.
These programs, offered in
conjunction with Dietrich’s Milk
Products, Inc., owner/operator of
the Middlebury Center, Pa. milk
manufacturing plant, include a 15-
cent per hundredweight producer
premium; a solids-not-fat
premium; and a seasonal bonus
incentive plan.
The producer premium is
straight forward every member
receives 15 cents per hun
dredweight above blend price for
all milk produced. The solids-not
fat premium, the first of its kind in
the northeast, pays 5 cents a
hundredweight per point for solids
not-fat over 8.7 from milk
produced by colored breed cows.

Farm Toy Event Set For Jan . 1
New Holland PTO baler that is 19
years old and has never been out of
it’s box. A local collector brought 2
of these home from a show in lowa,
one for his collection and the other
for the auction. It should fetch
around $l5O to $2OO. A rare plastic
Ferguson 30 tractor with mounted
plow from the 50’s is expected to
get gaveled down in the $5OO area.

premium is not directly tied to
quality.
The seasonal bonus incentive
plan is two-fold, rewarding
producers for increasing milk
during the fall months and also for
improving total production by
increasing their production base. A
premium is paid on base pounds
produced during eight months of
the year and an additional SO-cent
per hundredweight premium is
paid during August through
November on all milk produced
above the producer’s base
established the preceding year.
“Premiums are not new to
United’s milk producers,” stated
United President James Patsos.
“Other cooperatives have recently
adopted production incentives and
premium programs but we feel
ours are more advantageous to the
dairy farmer. Dietrich’s and
United are pleased to be able to
provide these programs to our
members.”

Paradise is auction manager.
Their auction in August at the
same location grossed thirty
thousand dollars with individual
prices from around fifteen dollars
to five hundred dollars. Dale and
Dave also managed an auction in
October which included an ex
tremely rare New Holland toy
baler that brought over $5OO.
For those who favor less costly
items, the “Thrifty Dutchman
Supply” folks will be selling new
