Milk Call Provision
To Be Considered
NEW YORK - Market Ad
ministrator Thomas A. Wilson
announced a meeting on what is
commonly referred to as the “call
provision” under the New York-
New Jersey Milk Marketing Or
ders.
This provision, Section
1002.27(g), may be activated to
insure that handlers regulated
under the Orders will supply
sufficient quantities of bulk farm
milk for the Class I fluid market.
Wilson stated that the purpose of
the meeting is to receive dairy
industry testimony pertaining to
the information he should use in
determining the required per
centage of Class I utilization which
must be met by all Order No. 2 pool
plants and pool units for the
months of January and February
1987.
The meeting will be held in the
Empire Room of the Hotel
Syracuse, 500 S. Warren Street,
Syracuse, New York at 9:30 a.m.
on Dec. 22,1986.
For activating the call provision,
the Orders require that the Market
Administrator issue a schedule
setting forth, by months, the
minimum percentage of Class I
use required for plants and units.
Wilson further stated that any
handler’s designated pool plant or
pool unit that did not meet this
percentage would have its
designation or pool status can
celled or suspended.
