A44jncast«r Farming, Saturday, December 20,1986 Delmarva Poultry Thursday, Dec. 18,1986 Market Comment: Demand for ready to cook whole birds was again light to fair and disap pointing overall. Offerings were irregular but more than sufficient to handle current inquiry, par ticularly on three pound and heavier sizes. Demand in the parts complex was best on adequate to barely adequate stocks of wings. All other items were at least adequate for current inquiry with legs and leg quarters still distressed in most quarters. Less than trucklot asking prices were generally unchanged at 41-49 cents. Some trucklot activity was noted as low as 39 cents. Live supplies were at least adequate. Weights were desirable to mostly heavy. Slaughter schedules were moderately heavy. The undertone was just steady. Estimated slaughter of broiler fryers in Delmarva: Estimated 12/18 1,960,000; Ac- Copyright 1916 by Lancaster Fanning P.O. Box 366 - LititzXPA 17543 Office: 22E. Northeast Chicken Parts Thursday, December 18,1986 Comment; Trading activity was mixed on rib-on-breasts; although some dealers were asking more, trading was usually accomplished at unchanged levels. Offerings were fully adequate. Some dealers noted a difficulty in moving line run breasts at increasingly competitive price levels while cutlets were mostly steady. Legs and leg quarters remained in a weak position and difficult to move at any level. Wings were in the firmest position although sales were only about moderate.
