Delmarva Poultry
Thursday,'Dec. 11,1986
Market Comment: Demand for
ready to cook whole birds was
improved and about moderate.
Offerings were reduced but still
fully sufficient to handle any ad

was occurring at higher trending
levels, particularly on whole
breasts. Dark meat items were
still in excess, and prices con
tinued to edge lower. Wings were
in generally good balance. Less
than trucklot asking prices were
mostly two cents lower at 43-49
cents. Live supplies were at least
moderate: weights desirable but
mostly heavy. Slaughter schedules
were reduced a bit compared to
past couple of days and moderate
in total. The undertone was barely
steady to weak.

Thursday, December 11,1986
Comment; Trading was mixed in
the breast complex, light and
unaggressive on leg items. Cutlets
had moved into a slightly better
balance and sales below $1.75 level
were becoming less prevalent.
Line one breasts have cleared for
the most part, and sales and a
willingness to buy at 75 cents was
apparent. Rib breasts were
clearing much better as retail
feature interest has drawn sup
plies tighter in several quarters.
Legs and leg quarters continued in
ample supply, and were slow in
clearing. Wings were adequate at
current price levels.
