slaughter steers and heifers closed
1.502.00 lower. Slaughter cows
steady and slaughter bulls steady
to 1.00 higher. A sharply lower
dressed beef prices and daily
decline in boxed beef prices were
the dominant factors in the decline
in prices at the live level.
Estimated 5 day receipts this
week 6,200 compared to actual 5
day receipts last week of 7,695 and
7,471 last year. Slaughter steers
accounted for 38 percent of
receipts, slaughter heifers 40
percent, slaughter cows 11 percent
and feeder cattle 9 percent.
