Ask the Old Farmer: Recently I purchased some old
bam siding (extenor) and some old bam beams that I
intend to use in a room of a cabin Is there any way I
can treat the wood for pests and vermin without
altering its appearance 7 J A F, Mantua, Ohio
Fill a spray oil can with turpentine or kerosene Brush off
each board or timber with a stiff bristle brush Spray into
any holes you encounter while brushing, this should kill any insects in the wood This
procedure will change the color of the wood, but only for a day or two
Home Hints: When washing nylon curtains, add a few drops of white vinegar to the nnse water
to make the curtains dust resistant
