an FFA Ambassador Program,
which is designed to allow past
state officers to build the public’s
awareness of the FFA and high
school agriculture education.
Currently there are three am
bassadors: John Sebastiano, past
state FFA president of Stockton;
Kathy Ann Smylie, past state FFA
vice-president, of Wrightstown;
and Patricia Rupell, past state
FFA secretary, of Washington.

During their year as state of
ficers, each was trained to explain
the FFA and its relationship with
vocational agriculture education.
Presentations to school ad
ministrators, local granges and
other public concern groups
provided the ambassadors op
portunities to discuss the many
areas FFA involves.
A recent ambassadorship event
was a Business and Industry Tour
sponsored by the National FFA
Foundation. Sebastiano and

FFA supporters which allowed the
ambassadors to continue their
growth of knowledge of the FFA as
a whole.
The next engagement for the
busy ambassadors is in November
at a presentation to the Newark
Kiawanas Club to help celebrate
Farm City Week.
Each ambassador is currently
enrolled in college. Sebastiano is a
junior at Rutgers University Cook
College, New Brunswick, majoring
Lancaster Farming, Saturday, November IS, 1986-813
in agriculture economics. Smylie
is also a junior at Rutgers Cook
College and is majoring in
agriculture education. Rupell is
currently a sophomore at
Delaware Valley College of
Science and Agriculture,

champion capon at the Lincoln
Community 4-H Club Capon
Roundup Nov. 4.
Seven 4-H’ers competed for the
championship in the show, which
was held at the Denver'Fire Hall.
