Members of Lancaster Society 10
met Nov. 8 at the home of president
Nancy Starr. Nancy led the
devotions.
The Program Committee
completed plans for 1987.
Ways and Means Committee
members thanked ail members
who helped at Christmas in Oc
tober at the Farm and Home
Center.
The Social Committee reported
that they are making plans for a
Christmas Party at Joe Myers’
Restaurant. Each member will
give $1 to the budget instead of
buying gifts for each other.
Six members attended the
County Convention. Bessie Evans
and Nancy Starr gave brief
reports. All agreed that the
program was very good.
President Nancy Starr reminded
members of the State Convention
scheduled for Jan. 12 and 13 in
Harrisburg. The Spring Rally will
be held May 20 at Elizabethtown
College.
Lancaster Society 11
Members of Lancaster Society 11
met Oct. 30 at the home of Helen
Shaub. Helen was elected as
treasurer for one year. Ten
members attended the county
convention.
Members noted with regret the
death of fellow member Ethel
Overly and passed a resolution of
respect in her memory.
Helen Wagner showed a series of
slides on mills in Lancaster County
and gave a history of each mill.
The next meeting will be held at
1:30 p.m. on Nov. 20 in the social
rooms of St. Paul’s Church of
Christ, Quarryville. Artist Kenneth
Hudler of Bel Air, Md. will show
pictures on the life of Christ. For

Lancaster Society 20
Mrs. Dorothy Crawford, Kirk
wood, entertained members of
Lancaster Society 20 on Nov. 6.
Pauline Reinhart served as co
hostess.
Mrs. Reinhart conducted
devotions and the Sunshine
Committee reported sending four
cards, one gift and a basket of
fruit.
Eleven members who attended
the county convention gave a
report. Mrs. Vera Herr was elected
county treasurer.
The state Farm Women’s
Convention will be held in January.
Society 20 will hold a Christmas
banquet in the Quarryville Fire
Hall on Dec. 13.
Members closed the meeting
with a birthday cake baked by
Arlene Fisher honoring those
having birthdays in November.
Lancaster Society 25
Seventeen members of Society 25
met at the home of Shirley Gish,
Nolt Road, Landisville. Ada Rice
conducted devotions.
Members made plans to have a
bingo game for the guests at
Conestoga View on Nov. 20.
Beatrice Newswanger reported
a total of 155 hours of help for the
Heart Association.
Jean Breneisen and Shirly Gish
taught members how to make tin
punch Christmas tree ornaments.
Members made many clever or
naments.
The group will hold a family
covered dish supper at Wenger’s
Chiropractic Clinic, 1516 Lititz
Pike, on bee. 13 at 5:30 p.m.
Landis Valley Associates of the
Pennsylvania Farm Museum will
show a film titled “The
Magnificent Dream. ”
