Compared to last week’s close,
slaughter steers and heifers prices
ranged .50-.75 higher, establishing
the highest tops seen locally this
year. Buyer demand, which had
proved excellent early in the
session, narrowed at the close,
with some resultant erosion in
price levels. Overall finish con
tinued attractive, while steer
weight averages moved markedly
higher than last week. Cows 1.50-
2.50 lower, Bulls 1.00-2.00 lower.

7475. Steers comprised 39 percent
of week’s receipts; heifers 37 pet.,
feeders 17 percent; cows 6 percent.
