Members of Lancaster Society 20
celebrated their 40th anniversary
Thursday, Oct. 16 with a luncheon
at the Country Table in Mt. Joy.
Tables were decorated with roses
and mums. Committee members
were Valaria Ferguson, Lillian
Winters and Marion Hastings.
Among the 25 Society members
attending were three charter
members: Pauline Reinhart,
Dorothy Crawford and Marion
Hastings. The chairman welcomed
everyone and Jane Ferguson of-
fered a prayer of thanks.
Following the luncheon
president Mary Shirk gave a
speech and Valaria Ferguson read
the history of the society. Several
scrap books kept throughout the
years were displayed. Members
shared memories of society
events; many of them were
humorous.
Members of Lancaster Society 8
met Oct. 18 at the home of Nellie
Blake. Phyllis Endslow led the
devotional time and members
responded to roll call by showing
and telling about individual
keepsakes.
Show and Tell was the main
theme of the program and
members showed various crafts,
including a United States quilt.
Members of Berks Society 1 met
recently at the home of Mrs.
Lillian Hetrick. Marian Borneman
from the Miniature Shop in
Boyertown spoke on miniatures.
President Lillian Hetrick con
ducted the business meeting.
Members were asked to bring a
Christmas gift for a guest at Berks
Heim ** ♦**«' Mr "’ember meeting.
Members of Berks Society 6 met
for their October meeting at the
home of Mrs. David Bauer, Rl,
Oley. Robert Wolcott showed slides
and spoke on dental health and root
canal procedures.
The group gave a donation to a
local family whose home was
damaged by fire.
Members and guests recently
Berks Society 12 met Oct. 14 at
the home of Gloria Christman,
Hamburg.
For roll call, members told their
favorite pizza topping.

The Society will meet in Donegal
Presbyterian Church at noon Nov.
12 to entertain Society 5. The
societies will share a covered dish
meal. Mabel Warner and Friends
will present the program.
New officers were elected for
1987-88. They are: president,
Agnus Noll; vice president, Esther
Berndt; secretary, Pauline Hef
felfinger; treasurer, Joan Haas;
and corresponding secretary,
Donna Hetrick. The next meeting
will be held at the home of Naomi
Howard.
