Berks Farm Women Hold Annual Convention
The 35th annual convention of
Berks County Farm Women was
held recently at the Ag Center with
118 members and guests present.
The convention was called to order
by president, Joan Loeb.
Devotions were conducted by
Mrs. Joyce Mast and greetings
were made by Mrs. Agnes Noll,
convention chairlady. The
Memorial Service was conducted
by Mrs. Mary Bartholomew in
loving memory of one of their
members, Mrs. Myrtle Harthne.
Guests were introduced. Mrs.
Naomi Bupp, state president, gave
a report. The 1987 State Convention
will be held on January 13 and 14 at
Harrisburg. The Spring Rally for
1987 will be held at Elizabethtown

women and gave a milk presen
tation.
Group presidents’ reports were
read.
The new county officers are Mrs.
Mary Fizz, president, Mrs. Janet
Schlegal, vice president, and Mrs.
Darlene Yost, secretary.
Afternoon entertainment was
provided by the Adam Family of
Kutztown.

Group 9. In the adult division,
winners were Ruth Hartman, Fern
Philhppy, Sonia Moyer, and Susan
Myer.
The attendance award
presented by Mrs. Eleanor
Bissinger and presented to group 1
with 73 percent ot their mem
bership present at the convention.
Scrapbook awards went to Group
10, Group 8 and Group 5.
Joyce Shott presented a safety
award to each group and Carolyn
Feeg gave youth awards to each
group.
Door prizes were awarded and a
silent auction conducted.

The Cedar Crest Future Farm
ers of America have been informed
by the National FFA that
they will receive a Bronze Emblem
National Chapter Safety Award at
the National FFA Convention. The
convention will be held in Kansas
City, Mo. in November.
The bronze award places the
chapter in the top 10 percent of all
FFA’s in the United States. Cedar
Crest has now won at least one
National Chapter award each of
the past seven years.
