met Aug. 28 for their anniversary
luncheon at the Quarryville Fire
Company dining room. The lun
cheon was served by the Indies
Auxiliary.
Vice president Dorothy Adsitt
led the business meeting. Mrs.
Lancaster Society 28
Members of Lancaster Society 28 ducted the business meeting. Lois
met at the home of Esther Meek Kolb led devotions.
Aug. 28. Members were reminded of the
President Thelma Hess con- state convention Nov. 1. Glenn Sell
will be the speaker.

Barbara Keener read a number of
the poems she has written about
the women of the bible, including
her latest, “The Virtuous
Woman.”
The group will meet Sept. 25 at
the home of Betty Boas instead of
at Helen Shaub’s as indicated in
the program book.
James Landis of the Office
Works provided a program on
computer talk.
The society will be entertained
by Society 33 Sept. 11 at Grace
Baptist Church, Marietta.
Berks Society 1
Berks Society 1 met recently at
the home of Mrs. Marian Haas.
Two volunteers from “Women In
Crisis” provided the program and
assured members that help is
available to those who need it.
Members will have a refresh
ment stand at the Miriam Geiger
sale Sept. 6 and a shoo-fly pie stand
at the Reading Fair, Sept. 24 and
25. The county convention will be
Oct. 4 and a bingo party for guests
at Berks Heim is set for Nov. 3.
The group made a donation to a
young girl in the area who is un
dergoing heart surgery.
The next meeting will be at the
home of Donna Hetrick.
Berks Society 4
Berks Society 4 met in August at
the home Mrs. Feme Kulp. Mrs.
Georgeanna Fullerton was
hostess.
The evening began with a picnic
and a com roast. Charles Fullerton
gave a slide presentation of
Mexico.
The September meeting will be
held at the home of Mrs.
Marguerite Rush. A represen
tative from Met Ed will give a
safety presentation.
