Agriculture’s Meat Marketing
Program and Ed Stoudt’s Black
Angus Restaurant.

Lancaster Woman
Wins Pork Recipe
Contest
ADAMSTOWN - Mary A.
Dietrich of Lancaster came up
with the winning ingredients for
capturing the state Pork Fest
Recipe Contest, held Aug. 23 at the
Bavarian Summer Festival in
Adamstown.
“This was the first time I’ve
entered a cooking contest,’’
Dietrich said. She was awarded $75
plus a gift certificate for dinner for
two at Ed Stoudt’s Black Angus
Restaurant, Adamstown, and a gift
pack of Pennsylvania Pork
products.
Dietrich’s recipe, “Apncot-
Glazed Pork Roast” featured a
boneless pork lorn roast and spices
basted with an apricot and raisin
glaze, served on rice.
“Pennsylvania Pork Tortellim
Toss” won second place for Debbie
Yandric of Middletown. Her recipe
featured thin strips of boneless
pork, spices, vegetables and
cheese-filled tortellini. Yandric
received $5O and a Hatfield Piggy
bag with a five-pound party ham.
Third place winner was Giovina
M. Bradley of Lancaster with
“Oriental Pork.” She won $3O and
a 10-pound boneless dry-cured ham
from Leidy’s Inc. of Souderton.
Fourth place was won by Karen
Black of Erie with “Party Perfect
Pork Chops.” Black won $2O plus a
boneless ham and gift pack from
Alderfer Bologna Co.,
Harleysyille.
“Peariutty Pork Roast” brought
Sharon Jadick of Brodheadsville a
fifth-place prize of $l5 plus a gift
pack of ham, bacon and pork
sausage from Kunzler and Com
pany.
Winning honorable mention,
which included $lO and gift packs
of Canadian smoked bacon and
wood smoked ham from the Daniel
Weaver Co., Lebanon, were Peggi
Clauhs of Sellersville, Rosemary
Estelmann of Carlisle and
Josephine Piro of Easton.
Judging the boneless pork
contest were: Carol Stoudt, owner
of Ed Stoudt’s Black Angus
Restaurant; Julie Gockley of
Ephrata, the 1986 recipe contest
winner; and Lillie Anne Kopp of
Lancaster, free-lance home
economist.

LEBANON - The Lebanon
County Flower Club, a non-profit
organization, will hold its 37th
Annual Flower Show Wednesday,
Sept. 10 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and
Thursday, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. to
9 p.m., at the Lebanon Valley
Exposition Building, Cornwall and
Evergreen Roads, Lebanon.
