Correspondent MEADVILLE The young owners of the champion and reserve champion market swine brought home the bacon from the 14th annual 4-H Livestock Market Sale at the recent Crawford County Fair held at the fairgrounds in Meadville. Both porkers shattered previous sale records with prices that notched a 50 percent increase. Gamering champion for the first time, 13-year-old Tina Cutshall of Meadville sold her 255-pound hog to Reimold Brothers for $6 per pound. The previous record of $3.50 per pound was set last year on a purchase by First National Bank. This year, First National Bank purchased the reserve champion, owned by Brenda Holsopple of Venango, for $5.75 a pound which tops a 1982 record price of $3.15 a pound.
