Correspondent HUNTINGDON - Quality ran deep in all classes of the recent Central Championship Holstein Show, held at the Huntingdon County Fairgrounds, however, the number of entries was down considerably. A large crowd witnessed Singing Brook Farms receiving the premier exhibitor award and Globe-Run Farms receiving the premier breeder award, in spite of a drenching rain that fell at the start of the show. This is the third consecutive year that the Obie Snider family of Imler has earned the premier exhibitor banner. Singing Brook Farms also exhibited the grand champion cow. Singing Brook Pete Audie is a 6- year-old daughter of Straight-Pine Elevation Pete. Judge Richard Keene described her as a good looking, good-sized cow with balance and symmetry. He also credited her with looking like she worked. In the junior show, another member of Globe-Run Farms, John Andrew Foster 111, showed the grand champion, a senior 2- year-old daughter of Ocean-View Sexation. Miriam Kelly, Tyrone, stepped into the reserve grand champion slot with her senior 2-year-old daughter of Cal-Clark Board Chairman. Alienor Holstein Farms, Bedford showed the junior champion, Alienor Temptation Opal, a tall, stylish heifer daughter of C Roybrook Temptation-ET. Singing Brook also exhibited the reserve junior champion, an Elevation daughter. Killdee Astrochief, owned by David Davis, garnered the junior championship of the junior show. Rebecca Kelly placed in the reserve spot with a Crescentmead Chief Stewart daughter.
