The sale, also spon sored by the Pennsylvania Holstein Association, will begin at 7 p.m. Tom Dum of the Pennsylvania Holstein Association visited Centre County in June to help club members select top-quality animals for the sale. “We’re looking for cows that will freshen or be due close to sale time,” said Dum. “We want Boyd Homan (left), Tussey View Farm, Centre Hall, gets advice from Tom Dum of the Pennsylvania Holstein Association in selecting cows for the Centre County Holstein Club sale. The sale to be held at Centre Hall Grange Fairground will coincide with Ag Progress Days held in nearby Rock Springs. Her maternal sister by Astronaut, VG-66, EX-MS, sold for $3,200 to a buyer from Colorado. Ten members of this cow family sold for a total of $27,000. Walhowdon Maple Carolmay, sired by Citation R Maple, sold for the second best bid of $B,OOO to a Vermont partnership. Carolmay produced three records over 25,000 pounds of milk and 1,000 pounds of fat.
