for 4 years. Her Hereford steer is
homebred.
Market Lambs
Annette Lovell’s Suffolk lamb,
Tidbits, was the champion market
lamb in the Youth and Open
Market Show. Sixteen-year-old
Annette is the daughter of Ralph

for eight years and is no stranger
to the winner’s circle. In other
years she has shown two grand
champion market lambs and has
won numerous prizes for showing
beef. Annette is president of the
Bottle Run 4-H Club.
Tidbits, Annette said, is the
result of a mating between a
previous champion of hers and a
ram from Max Dehart in Milton.
Annette’s ewe, Tibbens, won the
overall champion and reserve
breeding sheep trophy of the Youth
Sheep Show. Additionally, Annette
won senior champion showman
and fitter in the Youth Sheep Show.
Does Annette have any tips on
raising champion lambs?
“I like to do all my work before
coming to the fair,” she replied,
“and I try not to get attached to the
market ones.”
Reserve champion market lamb

Shane Corter, 11, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Gary Corter, Linden. For
