York County Correspondent
YORK Several repeat
champions, and a few surprises,
marked the York 4-H Dairy
Roundup, held Wednesday at the
York Fairgrounds.
Guernsey animals opened the
annual 4-H showring competition,
with Kelly Morris, Fawn Grove,
copping the junior and grand
champion honors. It was the first
time in the showring for her
winning senior calf, Beas Bonus
Tinkerßfell.
Reserve junior and grand
champion Guernsey was exhibited
by Annie Rauhauser, Dover. <
Annie’s junior yearling also earned
her the champion owner-breeder
award, and her junior calf entry
took reserve champion owner
breeder.
Copping the Brown Swiss senior
and grand champion ribbons was
Kim McCleary, Stewartstown. Her
3-year-old cow, Brookdale Telestar
Nina, had taken the reserve
exhibited by Kim McCleary, left. In the reserve spot was Kelly
Jo Myers.

Junior champion and reserve
grand in the Brown Swiss com
petition was won by Kelly Jo
Myers, Thomasville, with her
intermediate calf.
Brown Swiss champion owner
breeder award went to Shelly
Shaffer with her junior calf that
finished in the reserve junior
champion spot.
Top awards in the Jersey show
were split between Sue Eisenhart,
Thomasville, and Paul Rauhauser,
Dover.
Sue Eisenhart’s returning
champion of three years, Pine
Mountain Fashionable Daisy,
again took the purple rosettes for
senior and grand champion Jersey
honors. Daisy, a 5-year-old, and
her 3-year-old daughter, Dandy,
then claimed the dam-daughter
class for Sue. Dandy was also
selected the best bred and owned.
Jersey junior and reserve junior
rosettes went to Paul Eauhauser,
with his intermediate yearling and

Rauhauser also claimed the
reserve and reserve best bred and
owned award with his junior
yearling.
C.E. Hubbard 111, New Cum
berland, was the big winner in the
Holstein classes, capturing grand,
senior and junior champion
honors.
Although showing dry, the ex
tremely dairy Kowraygan Creek
Linnan Jean topped all milking
animals in the championship
runoff. The 5-year-old has won
numerous honors for Hubbard,
including past regional and state
junior show top awards.
Reserve grand champion, as
well as champion and reserve best
bred and owned awards went to
Bridgette Boyer, York.
C.E. Hubbard also topped the
Holstein heifer classes, taking the
junior champion award with his
senior yearling. Reserve junior
champion was the second senior
yearling, exhibited by Rich Bupp,
Seven Valleys.
A combined showmanship-fitting
contest wrapped up the day-long
roundup with three top 4-H’ers
selected in each of three age
divisions.
Alyson Duncan, Thomasville,
was selected top showman-fitter in
the junior age category, with Brad
Walker, Glen Rock, second, and
Kelly Morris, Fawn Grove, third.
In the intermediate age division,
Jenelle Boyer, York, topped
second place winner Tim Warner,
New Park, and Rich Bupp, Seven
Valleys, in third.
Senior winner in the fitting
showmanship was Bridgette
Boyer, York, over C.E. Hubbard,
New Cumberland, second, and
Downa Doll, Glen Rock, third.
